Biography
Since 2021 Patrick McGuire has served as Director of Music at Saints Anne & Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo. He previously spent 5 years as Director of Choral Activities for a 6-12 Catholic school. Patrick has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN), and a Master’s Degree in Music from the University of Mary (Bismarck, ND) with a certificate in Sacred Music. An avid organist, cantor, conductor, and composer, Patrick has spent much of his early career focusing on sacred music and liturgical studies.
He has assisted in various roles for numerous diocesan liturgies in the northern Midwest, primarily as a conductor. He assists with the annual Diocese of Fargo Parish Musician’s Workshop as a conductor & clinician. As an independent conductor and clinician, he has led workshops for church musicians and guest conducted choirs from churches, schools, and local communities throughout the country. His social media following of over 80,000 across all platforms enjoys light-hearted content about music & liturgy, in addition to the weekly offerings of his parish music program.
He is quickly becoming an accomplished composer, writing liturgical music for choirs of varying make-ups, and organ arrangements that focus on reverence for liturgical and scriptural texts with accessibility as a common focal point. His compositions have been distributed in over 150 cities across 20 countries worldwide. He can be heard from time to time on Real Presence Radio discussing sacred music and liturgy.
